Defense Against Devastating Consequences
If you have been charged with a federal criminal offense, you want options and you want to minimize the consequences. At the Portland office of Priscilla Seaborg, Attorney at Law, I offer aggressive criminal defense for the accused throughout Oregon. If you have been charged with a federal offense, I can work to reduce the charges you face and minimize the potential consequences.
Protecting Your Interests. Always.
Practicing as a criminal defense trial lawyer in Oregon since 1985, I am familiar with federal court. After working as a public defender in Indiana for four years, I worked as a federal defender in Oregon from 1985 to 1988. After eight years of public service law, I opened my own practice in 1996.
I successfully defended two battered women accused of murder in federal court. My trials involved the first battered women’s defense in Indiana and in federal court in Oregon. My client’s acquittal of murder charges was the first known acquittal of its kind.
I have litigated multiple pretrial issues, including suppression of statements and evidence, and a complex federal wiretap case. I have handled hundreds of complicated criminal offense cases for my clients, including:
- Drug crimes: From individual possession to conspiracy cases, I understand the importance of reducing the charges in federal drug cases. I have also successfully litigated and negotiated many cases, prevailing in pretrial litigation and avoiding mandatory minimum sentences.
- White collar crimes: I protect individuals and businesses in federal white collar crime cases, including bank fraud, check fraud, credit card fraud and identity theft.
- Sex crimes: Sex crimes, including child pornography and internet pornography, have major potential consequences, including lengthy prison time and mandatory sex offender registration. I have successfully litigated these issues, avoiding severe consequences for my clients.
- Juvenile law: There are a lot of defense options available for juveniles, which allows them to keep their records clean.
Sex Offense Registration
If you have been convicted of a sex crime, you may have to spend the rest of your free life as a registered sex offender. This registration will follow you everywhere, and it is a nightmare, but there are options for relief. After a certain period of years, you can ask for relief from having to register as a sex offender. I have prevailed in achieving relief from registration for my clients and can help you understand your options and a timetable.
If you have been charged with a federal offense in Oregon, you want an attorney who is familiar with the challenges you face in court. With over twenty-five years of trial experience, I am ready to handle your criminal defense.
